Purpose: This position is an important member of the Analytical and Measurement Instruments Division (AMI) Business Development team. Shimadzu seeks a “hunter”, an experienced, high performing business development professional to sell its state-of-the-art downstream processing products to Biopharma, CDMO, Vaccine, Plasma Products and Gene therapy customers. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and must have a demonstrated ability to sell new innovative products (both capital equipment and consumables) against entrenched competition and a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets. This position is expected to travel up to 50% of their time. Job Description: The individual in this position is responsible to lead Shimadzu India efforts in the Bioprocessing and Biopharma market development with key responsibilities including, but not limited to the below: Train on Shimadzu’s products and understand product line capabilities and benefits as compared to competitive products. Use Face to face meetings, video calls, webinars to prospect for leads and identify opportunities, and introduce customers to Shimadzu products and position products to solve their productivity problems better than competitors. Ensure timely response to customer requests and provide follow up and interface with relevant stakeholders. Serve as Key Business Development Manager to all accounts in the territory and build relationships with sales channels and direct sales teams to ensure penetration of accounts for rapid sales generation. Strategically develop territory by focusing on a mix of Key accounts and small accounts to meet current targets while establishing long term territory growth. Work closely with Sales administration, Expert and Engineering teams to execute on Sales Proposals for Custom designed products and new products introductions Perform “demos” for Bioprocessing products as needed to ensure customer confidence and close business. Provide and or help with customer installations or product training as needed. Manage Opportunity Pipeline with Shimadzu Business systems to provide accurate forecasting. Provide win/ loss analysis. Provide monthly Territory Sales plan and weekly update of progress related to account development, customer support and sales progress. Provide inputs to grow Shimadzu Biopharma and Bioprocessing Product Portfolio to provide end to end solutions to our customers. Exceed sales performance goal in your territory. Territorial coverage will be primarily in India (more than 90%) also to have secondary responsibilities across South Asia and Southeast Asia.
