Die Design & Fixture Development Design and develop wax injection dies Ensure die designs meet casting geometry, shrinkage allowance, draft angles, and tolerances . Review customer drawings and suggest DFM (Design for Manufacturability) improvements. Optimize die life, reduce wax defects, and minimize rework. 2. Fixture & Tooling Development Design and develop fixtures for machining, inspection, assembly, and welding . Develop gauges, checking fixtures, and holding fixtures as per process requirement. Ensure ergonomic, safe, and repeatable fixture designs. 3. Process Integration Work closely with Wax Shop, Shell, Melting, Fettling, Heat Treatment, Machining, and QC teams. Support new product development trials and first-off approvals . Troubleshoot tooling-related defects like misruns, shrinkage, distortion, mismatch, and cracks . 4. Team Leadership & Management Lead and mentor die designers, fixture designers, and tool room engineers. Plan manpower, allocate work, and monitor design timelines. Review and approve designs before release for manufacturing. 5. Vendor & Cost Management Coordinate with external tool manufacturers and vendors. Evaluate tool cost, lead time, and quality. Implement cost-reduction initiatives through standardization and reusability. 6. Quality & Documentation Ensure compliance with ISO / IATF / AS9100 / customer-specific standards . Maintain complete tooling documentation, BOMs, revision control, and change management. Support audits and customer technical discussions.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities for AGM-QAULITY 1. Machine Shop Quality Management Overall responsibility for in-process & final inspection of machined castings. Ensure adherence to drawings, control plans, SOPs, and inspection standards . Control dimensional accuracy, surface finish, GD&T compliance . Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap reduction initiatives. 2. Customer Quality & Compliance Handle customer audits, third-party audits, and certifications . Review and close customer complaints , CAPA, and 8D reports. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 OHAS Support PPAP, FAI, APQP, MSA activities. 3. Process Control & Continuous Improvement Drive SPC, process capability (Cp, Cpk) improvements. Lead Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Six Sigma, Lean initiatives. Collaborate with Production, Maintenance & Engineering for process optimization . Ensure effective tooling, fixture, and gauge validation . 4. Inspection Systems & Metrology Ensure availability & calibration of measuring instruments : CMM, Height Gauge, Profile Projector, Surface Roughness Tester Bore gauges, Micrometers, Verniers, Dial indicators Approve measurement methods and inspection techniques . 5. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop QA Engineers, Inspectors & Supervisors . Skill upgradation & training on drawing reading, GD&T, CMM, SPC . Manpower planning & performance monitoring. 6. Documentation & Reporting Review and approve: Control Plans, Inspection Plans Work Instructions, SOPs Quality reports, KPIs, MIS Maintain traceability & documentation as per customer requirement.
