We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Systems Programmer (Chief level) to manage, customize, and optimize IBM System Automation and Net-View environments. This role involves installation, configuration, troubleshooting, policy customization, and providing advanced automation solutions across complex mainframe infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in REXX/CLIST programming, deep knowledge of automation integration with scheduling and monitoring tools, and the ability to act as a subject matter expert for mainframe automation. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, troubleshoot, support, and maintain IBM System Automation (SA) and Net-View . Manage enhanced automation solutions for IWS-SA integration, SDF customization, and parameter settings. Develop and maintain Started Task (STC) management and deliver customized automation using coding. Build and manipulate new automation policies as per business requirements. Customize service periods, events, triggers, and pacing gates . Troubleshoot automation issues, perform root cause analysis , and implement preventive measures. Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document decisions, solutions, and procedures. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for mainframe automation. Continuously improve and optimize automation solutions. Required Skills 8+ years of experience managing IBM System Automation (IBM SA) and Net-View . 6+ years of hands-on experience in REXX coding and Net-View PIPE programming . Strong proficiency in CLIST programming . Solid understanding of IPL shutdown/startup sequencing . Expertise in IWS-SA integration and automation customization . Knowledge of integrated SMU with Omegamon and SA/Net-View SDF . Proven skills in customizing Service Periods, Events, Triggers, Pacing Gates . Basic knowledge of GDPS/PPRC MTMM . Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other mainframe engineers. High level of initiative with a structured, organized approach. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Deep understanding of mainframe automation infrastructure and related tools. ITIL knowledge is a plus.
