About the role
Most of our SEO already runs on an AI system (Claude) that researches keywords, writes and updates pages, audits the site, tracks rankings and AI answers, and reports every day. What it cannot do is act as a person: sign in to other websites, send emails, post in communities, ask customers for reviews or make judgment calls on the business's behalf.

You will run that system day to day and do the human half of SEO. You decide what gets approved within agreed limits, catch mistakes before they go live, and get our products mentioned on the websites, lists and communities that Google and AI assistants read.

This is a hands-on role: you send the outreach, publish the articles and post in the communities yourself, with the AI system doing the research and drafting.

A big part of the role is growing how often our apps appear in Google AI Overviews and other AI answers, alongside classic search rankings.

What you will do

1. Run the AI SEO system

• Start or check the daily run, read its report and work through the inbox: approvals, questions, pages to re-index.
• Check the work before you approve it: is every claim backed by an official page or our product facts, does the copy read like a person wrote it, does it follow our brand rules?
• Push back with reasons when something is wrong, and tell the system what to do next.
• Run the "desk list": the jobs that need a signed-in browser (Yoast checks, Bing and Google re-index requests, adding keywords to Ahrefs Rank Tracker).

2. Off-site SEO and outreach

• Send the listing requests, guest-post pitches and correction requests the system drafts, and follow up.
• Publish two off-site articles a month and keep a log of every link and mention won.
• Post in Shopify Community, Reddit and similar places where merchants ask about apps like ours, following each forum's rules and always disclosing who you work for.
• Keep our profiles current on G2, SourceForge, technologycounter, saaskart and similar directories.
• Ask happy merchants for honest reviews and for permission to be named as customers. Never write, buy or reward reviews.

Who we are looking for

• 2+ years in SEO or content marketing, ideally for a SaaS product, Shopify app or ecommerce brand.
• Hands-on use of AI tools for real work, and the habit of checking AI output against sources instead of accepting it.
• Working knowledge of Ahrefs (or Semrush), Google Search Console and WordPress.

• Outreach experience: pitches, listing requests and guest posts, without buying links.
• Clear written English and an eye for detail. Much of the job is spotting a claim that isn't backed by an official page.
• Comfortable deciding within agreed limits and saying no with reasons.

Nice to have

• Experience with Shopify merchants or the Shopify App Store.
• Activity in Shopify Community, Reddit or ecommerce groups.
• Knowledge of AI search visibility (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity).
• Familiarity with the Indian D2C market and the US Shopify market.

Tools you will use

Claude, WordPress, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics 4, a work email for outreach, and the community and directory sites listed above.
