Senior/Assistant Principal Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer in the Water market discipline, you will be responsible for various design activities related to waste water and desalination projects. Your primary tasks will include preparing equipment layout and civil outline drawings, piping material specifications, and valve material specifications. In addition, you will be involved in cross-checking hydraulic calculations, preparing pump and blower head calculations, and creating RFQs for bought-out and package items. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing technical datasheets for equipment, conducting bid evaluations, checking vendor drawings, and coordinating with vendors and consultants for document approvals. Your role will also involve tasks such as line sizing, preparation of fabrication skid drawings, checking piping isometric drawings, and collaborating with other disciplines like Process, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation. Moreover, you will need to manage design risks and assumptions, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, understand environmental considerations, and undertake post-project reviews for improvement. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring adherence to company procedures, identifying system improvements, and promoting good H&S practices. To be successful in this role, you should hold a BE or M Tech in Mechanical Engineering and possess detailed knowledge of the design process and engineering principles. Professional qualifications such as MIMechE/MIET or equivalent are desirable. Familiarity with software tools like AutoCAD P&ID, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Word is preferred.
