Senior Software Development Tester

As a Senior Software Development Tester, you will leverage your 6 to 8 years of relevant experience to contribute to our testing efforts. You should possess strong Java programming skills and a deep understanding of automation frameworks. Your expertise will be crucial in testing backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. The role requires a detail-oriented approach across the testing lifecycle, from strategy and planning to execution and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks for backend APIs and microservices using Java. Your tasks will include developing and executing test plans, test cases, and automated scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. Manual testing to validate edge cases, critical workflows, and exploratory scenarios will also be part of your responsibilities. You will perform SQL-based data validation and backend data consistency checks. Collaboration with development and DevOps teams is essential to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Leveraging AWS infrastructure for test setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting will be a key focus. Tracking and managing test execution, defects, and release readiness through JIRA and associated test management platforms is crucial for success in this role. You will validate and monitor data pipelines using tools such as DataFog, Informatica, or Apache NiFi. Identifying, documenting, and triaging bugs, as well as working closely with engineers for quick resolution, are vital aspects of the position. Continuous enhancement of automation coverage and strategy to reduce regression time and improve overall product quality is expected from you. You should have strong proficiency in Java for building robust test automation frameworks, expertise in API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar, and experience in writing complex SQL queries for backend data validation. Familiarity with AWS services, data flow validation tools, JIRA, and test case management tools is required. A solid understanding of SDLC and STLC, particularly within Agile environments, is essential. Your ability to perform both manual and automated testing as needed, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams, will be key to your success in this role.
