Senior Software Development Engineer(SSDE - MERN)

Sustainiam, a leading climate-tech product company, is looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Software Development Engineer (Senior SDE - MERN) to lead and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications. As a Senior SDE, you will have a pivotal role in driving technical excellence, mentoring team members, and delivering cutting-edge solutions in the renewable energy and carbon emissions domain. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in this leadership role, providing technical direction while working on impactful products that address global sustainability challenges. Responsibilities include leading the development of intuitive, dynamic, and responsive user interfaces using React.js for frontend development. You will implement complex UI/UX designs into high-quality, scalable, and pixel-perfect code, optimize front-end components for speed and performance, and ensure accessibility and responsiveness across all devices. For backend development, you will architect and implement robust RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js and design scalable, efficient, and secure MongoDB databases. Your role will involve building resilient backend systems, optimizing backend services, and handling real-time data processing. As a Senior SDE, you will also lead the integration of frontend and backend systems, collaborate with product managers, designers, and DevOps teams, review and enhance codebases, and take ownership of end-to-end deployment on cloud platforms. Mentorship and leadership are key aspects of this role, where you will guide junior developers, provide technical direction, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. Additionally, staying updated with modern web technologies, maintaining detailed documentation, and acting as a technical lead in requirement analysis and project roadmap planning are part of the general responsibilities. Must-have qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or a related field, 4-6 years of hands-on experience with the MERN stack, proficiency in React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, RESTful APIs, version control systems, cloud platforms, testing frameworks, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in TypeScript, experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, GraphQL, and serverless computing.
