Senior Quantitative Developer

The Senior Quantitative Developer position at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) involves working in the FTSE Russell Index Research & Design team under the supervision of the Head of Index Research & Design in APAC. The team is responsible for the development, design, and research of equity indices and index-related analytics, with a global presence in London, New York, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Shanghai. We are seeking a talented Python Developer who will play a key role in quantitative research and framework development using Python. As a Senior Quantitative Developer, you will be responsible for implementing Python applications using object-oriented programming principles to create efficient and scalable solutions. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to continuous deployment and integration. Additionally, you will analyze and optimize existing codebases for performance and maintainability, collaborate with quantitative researchers to integrate their models and algorithms into production-grade software, and develop investment analytics and research tools. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field. You should have strong proficiency in Python programming in an analytical environment, with a focus on object-oriented design and development. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of working experience in programming, preferably with Python and SQL, and experience with version control systems like Git. Familiarity with quantitative research methodologies or a keen interest in financial markets would be advantageous. Preferred skills for this role include knowledge of financial instruments and equity markets, exposure to data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy) and visualization tools (Matplotlib, plotly), and an understanding of software testing principles and frameworks. Familiarity with cloud services, collaborative software development practices, and IDE tools such as AWS, Pycharm, and VSCode would also be beneficial.
