Senior ML Scientist

Role Overview: You will be joining the Advertising Optimization & Automation Science team at Wayfair as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist based in Bangalore. In this role, you will play a crucial part in building intelligent, ML-powered systems that drive personalized recommendations and campaign automation within Wayfair's advertising platform. Your work will involve collaborating with other scientists, as well as members of internal Product and Engineering teams, to define and deliver capabilities that enhance advertiser outcomes and unlock substantial commercial value. Key Responsibilities: - Design and build intelligent budget, tROAS, and SKU recommendations, as well as simulation-driven decisioning beyond the current advertising platform capabilities. - Lead the development of GenAI-powered creative optimization and automation to increase ad revenue and improve supplier outcomes significantly. - Promote best practices in ML system design and development to raise technical standards across the team. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to deliver scalable ML solutions that enhance supplier campaign performance. - Stay at the forefront of innovation in supplier marketing optimization by researching and applying best practices in advertising science, GenAI applications, and auction modeling. - Work with Engineering teams to build and scale the infrastructure required for automated, intelligent advertising decisioning. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. - 9+ years of experience in building large scale machine learning algorithms. - 4+ years of experience in an architect or technical leadership position. - Strong theoretical understanding of statistical models and ML algorithms such as decision trees, neural networks, transformers, and NLP techniques. - Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) for developing production-grade products. - Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for creative problem-solving. - Demonstrated success in influencing senior level stakeholders based on recommendations backed by in-depth analysis. - Ability to partner cross-functionally to own and shape technical roadmaps. - Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning.
