Senior MERN Stack Developer

Job Title- Full-Stack MERN Developer (Microservices, Kafka, AWS)

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in developing robust web applications using MERN Stack technologies. You will work directly with UK and India based management and collaborate with internal teams in a fast-paced, iterative development environment. Your code will directly shape the products used by our clients in the UK legal sector.

Key Responsibilities-

• Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and

MongoDB.

• Apply advanced React techniques: hooks, memoization, and server-side rendering (SSR).
• Build microservices using Express.js and Nestify; manage isolated services with independent DBs.
• Implement inter-service communication using Kafka, RabbitMQ, and gRPC, ensuring loose

coupling and fault tolerance.

• Architect data flow with both NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) and SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

databases.

• Manage infrastructure and deployments on AWS using services like EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch,

Lambda, etc.

• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, run automated test suites, and enforce code quality and style standards.
• Work with GitHub for version control, code review, branching, and releases.

Must-Have Skills

• Expertise in React.js with deep understanding of lifecycle methods, SSR, and optimization

techniques.

• Strong command of Redux and optionally Redux-Saga for side-effect management.- Backend experience in Node.js, Express.js, and Nestify microservice frameworks.
• Solid foundation in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL schema design and indexing strategies.
• Real-world experience using Kafka, RabbitMQ, gRPC, and Redis for distributed architecture.
• Ability to build fault-tolerant, retry-safe, and resilient systems.
• Strong AWS skills: provisioning, autoscaling, security, and monitoring.

Testing Tools & Practices-

• Unit Testing: Jest, Mocha, Chai
• Integration Testing: Supertest, Postman/Newman
• Performance Testing/ Load Testing: Artillery, Apache JMeter
• Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience migrating from monolith to microservices.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Exposure to CQRS, event sourcing, or saga patterns in distributed systems.
