Senior Engineer - Product Development / Material Development

As a Senior Engineer in the S&C Electrics System Design team, your primary focus will be designing and developing new products while identifying and qualifying new materials. The goal is to prepare you for growth into the title of Manager-Materials Development. **Responsibilities:** - Communicate with engineers, executives, and customers to explain decisions, propose actions, and understand needs - Prepare project plans including test protocols to verify target performance and generate reports - Partner with suppliers to meet objectives and develop skills - Stay updated on new developments in the field through trade contacts, industry meetings, and academic research - Train and mentor junior colleagues to develop their expertise - Oversee the work of junior engineers and technologists to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results - Work in a multidisciplinary team to optimize the product outcome **Requirements:** - Demonstrated understanding of how material selection, design, and processing are interconnected - Expert knowledge in fiber reinforced composites, elastomer formulation, epoxy formulation, and pressure-gel processing - Experience with nanotechnology for enhancing polymer properties is a plus - Willingness to expand technical expertise in areas with knowledge gaps - Knowledge of environmental testing procedures and selecting material systems for environmental resistance - 15+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a lead or supervisory capacity In the S&C team, integrity, enthusiasm, and sustained energy are valued traits.
