Senior Director - Hosting Operations & SRE

As the Senior Director, Hosting Operations & SRE at GSK, your role is crucial in leading the Infrastructure Operations team within GP&T Enterprise Hosting Services. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operational aspects of infrastructure technologies and tools, with a primary focus on enhancing operational maturity and improving the user experience. Your key responsibilities include collaborating closely with business leaders and stakeholders within the Digital and Tech organization, managing strategic Managed Service Provider teams, and providing 24x7 support for various services and technologies. Your main duties involve developing and implementing operational strategies for hosting services in both cloud and on-premises environments, leading a team of operational leaders across various infrastructure technology domains, and driving self-healing AI/ML operations to promote automated, self-service provisioning. Additionally, you will be expected to enable tooling and practices for proactive management, automation, integration, and comprehensive testing of operational procedures, as well as ensuring high transparency through logging and monitoring for infrastructure operators, application owners, and project leads. To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with over 18 years of experience in Tech/IT. Proficiency in modern software engineering practices and cloud-centric infrastructure is essential, as well as demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Moreover, your extensive management experience with suppliers and matrixed multi-functional teams, coupled with a self-starting attitude and strong sense of urgency, will be instrumental in managing third-party relationships and driving cross-functional operational discipline. Preferred qualifications for this role include five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a passion for enhancing customer experience, expertise in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs, proficiency in agile delivery methodologies, and experience in the DevOps operational model.
