Senior Devops Engineer

Role Details

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer, with more than 8-12 years of relevant experience, to design, build, and maintain our CI/CD pipelines and containerized and On-Prem Infrastructure. You will own the automation that lets our development teams ship reliably and at scale. The work spans AI, DevOps, virtualization, and container orchestration platforms.

You'll make a difference through your expertise in:

• DevOps (Jenkins, Github, Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts)
• CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance
• Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration
• Hyper-V virtualization
• Infrastructure management (networking, storage, compute)
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash)
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
• Git source control
• AWS Cloud

Role Overview

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role. You will shape how software moves from commit to production and how the underlying infrastructure is built, changed, and supported. You will work closely with development teams, infrastructure colleagues, and security specialists.

You are accountable for the reliability and maintainability of the delivery platform. You are not expected to own every application or act as the sole authority on security or networking. Senior judgment matters as much as technical depth. That means choosing proportionate solutions, documenting decisions, and helping others adopt sound practices.

Key Responsibilities

Pipelines and Release Engineering

You will design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Pipelines will be defined as code in YAML and Shell scripts, using reusable templates, consistent stage gates, and clear approval paths. You will manage repositories and branching strategies Repos and Git, and support pull request workflows and code review standards.

You will run Artifactory as the central artifact and container registry. This includes:

• Repository structure, retention policies, and access controls
• Promotion of build outputs between environments
• Integration with Artifacts where appropriate

You will select deployment approaches, such as rolling or blue-green releases, according to each service's needs, with practical rollback mechanisms.

Containers and Orchestration

You will standardize Docker image builds with minimal base images, versioned tags, and automated vulnerability scanning. You will operate Kubernetes clusters, covering but not limited to:

• Namespaces, resource limits, and role-based access control
• Ingress configuration and secrets handling
• Deployment patterns for services

You will also work with application teams on containerization and production readiness.

Virtualization and Infrastructure

You will manage Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines, including clustering, capacity, live migration, and patching. You will maintain the supporting networking, storage, and compute infrastructure with infrastructure colleagues. You will monitor performance, forecast capacity, and plan hardware and software lifecycle. You will also confirm that backups and restore procedures meet agreed recovery objectives.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code

You will provision and change infrastructure through Terraform and manage configuration through Ansible or similar tools. Changes go through peer review, automated validation, and drift detection. You will write and maintain PowerShell and Bash automation for provisioning, maintenance, and operational tasks, with testing and documentation that let others maintain the code with confidence.

Security and Operational Practice

You will build security controls into delivery workflows, including:

• Dependency and image scanning
• Secrets management
• Least-privilege service accounts
• Certificate renewal

You will triage findings by risk, working with the security team, which sets policy and provides independent assurance. You will take part in incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless reviews. You will also improve monitoring and alerting so that every alert prompts a clear action.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

• More than 8-12 years of relevant experience across DevOps, infrastructure engineering, and systems administration
• Substantial hands-on experience designing and maintaining AWS,DevOps pipelines, repositories, and artifact feeds
• Practical experience operating Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Experience administering Hyper-V virtualization, including clustering and capacity management
• Solid grounding in networking, storage, and compute infrastructure
• Strong scripting ability in PowerShell and Bash
• Working experience with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools
• Fluent use of Git, including branching strategies and code review
• Demonstrated experience administering Artifactory
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and communicating clearly during incidents

A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience is accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

The following would be valuable but are not required:

• Experience migrating pipelines between CI platforms.
• Familiarity with Helm or GitOps tooling
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux in mixed environments
• Exposure to software supply chain controls such as artifact signing or software bills of materials

AWS Certifications, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate are welcome. They complement demonstrated experience rather than replace it.
