Senior Backend (Node JS) Engineer

As a skilled Backend Engineer with 3-5 years of experience, you will be responsible for designing scalable PostgreSQL schemas with partitioning/sharding and ensuring migration and rebalancing safety. You will also build Kafka producers/consumers, manage schema evolution, and handle idempotent message processing. Creating and maintaining BullMQ queues/workers for jobs, retries, and DLQs will be part of your role. It will be your responsibility to optimize reliability, performance, and observability by implementing metrics, tracing, and logs. Additionally, you will lead development verticals and contribute to database design. Your qualifications should include 3+ years of experience with Node.js and Express in a production environment. You should have a strong foundation in database and system design, including schema design, indexing, normalization, and consistency models. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL sharding/partitioning and online data migration is essential. Experience in designing Kafka topics and consumers with idempotency and replay safety is required. Proficiency in Redis/BullMQ for rate limits, retries, concurrency, and DLQs is expected. Solid skills in TypeScript/JavaScript and testing, as well as experience in monitoring, profiling, and tuning (p95 latency, connection pools) are necessary.
