As a Senior AWS Data Engineer Vice President at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future by spearheading the evolution of the Reference Data Services function. Your accountability and responsibility will involve the end-to-end engineering of software components, including strategy, architecture, design, build, documentation, and testing. Working closely with colleagues in the cloud and middleware organization, you will bring products to life as part of a modern developer-focused experience. Your effective stakeholder management, leadership, and decision-making skills will support business strategy and risk management. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines for seamless transfer and processing of durable, consistent data. - Design and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security. - Development of processing and analysis algorithms suitable for varying data complexities and volumes. - Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models. **Qualifications Required:** - Experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, CloudFormation, etc. - Proficiency in Python language for data engineering and automation purposes. - Familiarity with ETL frameworks, data transformation, and data quality tools. - Highly valued skills may include AWS Data Engineer certification, previous experience in banking or financial services domain, IAM and Permissions management in AWS cloud, experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst, Iceberg.
