Senior Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Accountant (Mixed Profile) to join our growing CA practice. In this Individual Contributor (IC) capacity, you will independently manage an assigned portfolio of client accounts. A "mixed profile" means you will serve as a versatile expert handling end-to-end accounting, statutory compliances (GST, TDS, Income Tax), and audit preparation. You will act as the direct execution engine and technical anchor for client deliverables, reporting directly to the Manager or Partner.

• Role Type: Individual Contributor (IC) — No direct team management required.
• Experience: 4 to 7 years in core accounting, taxation, and audit support (preferably within a CA firm or consultancy environment).

Key Responsibilities1. Core Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Independently manage the end-to-end books of accounts for multiple corporate and non-corporate clients.
• Supervise and execute month-end and year-end closing processes, including complex journal entries and accruals.
• Prepare error-free Financial Statements (Balance Sheets, P&L statements, Cash Flow) in compliance with Accounting Standards / Ind AS / IFRS.
• Perform regular, rigorous bank reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations, and vendor/customer ledger reviews.
• Generate monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports and variance analysis for client review.

2. Direct & Indirect Taxation & Compliances

• Compute and handle periodic statutory deposits including GST, TDS, TCS, and Advance Tax.
• Prepare and file periodic tax returns (e.g., GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, TDS returns) using government utilities and reconciliation tools.
• Conduct meticulous reconciliations of internal tax ledgers with government portals (e.g., matching GSTR-2B with purchase registers).
• Draft technical submissions and compile documentation required for income tax or GST assessments and audits.

3. Statutory & Internal Audit Support

• Function as the primary technical point of contact for external and statutory auditors.
• Create complete, audit-ready working paper files, schedules, and cross-references.
• Address audit queries independently and resolve technical accounting discrepancies proactively.
• Evaluate and document clients' internal financial controls, recommending process improvements where deficiencies are found.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Chartered Accountant (CA Inter / CA / ACCA dropouts or equivalent) or a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting (M.Com / B.Com).
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indian Tax Laws (GST & Income Tax), corporate compliance rules, and standard accounting principles.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience with Tally Prime & Zoho Books)
• Excel Expertise: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are mandatory (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, and financial formatting).
• IC Mentality: Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks under tight regulatory timelines, and execute assignments with minimal oversight.
• Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills to coordinate cleanly with clients, regulatory bodies, and senior partners
