JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, GST compliance, taxation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and balance sheet preparation. The candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, Tally Prime/Busy, MS Excel, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain daily accounting transactions, ledgers, journals, and vouchers.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and review trial balances, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

2. GST & Taxation

• Handle GST compliance, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C, wherever applicable.
• Reconcile purchase records with GSTR-2B and verify Input Tax Credit (ITC).
• Manage TDS/TCS calculations, deductions, payments, and return filing.
• Assist with income tax, advance tax, and other applicable statutory compliances.
• Coordinate with auditors and consultants for tax assessments and notices.

3. Banking & Reconciliation

• Perform bank reconciliation and vendor/customer ledger reconciliation.
• Monitor outstanding payments and receivables.
• Verify bank transactions, payment vouchers, and receipts.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process vendor invoices, purchase bills, and payment entries.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
• Verify invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and supporting documents.
• Ensure timely processing of payments and accurate recording of receipts.

5. Financial Reporting & MIS

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain cash flow statements and expense reports.
• Analyse financial data and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning.

6. Software & Documentation

• Must have hands-on experience with Tally Prime and/or Busy accounting software.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and formulas.
• Maintain proper accounting records and documentation for internal and statutory audits.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable laws.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS/TCS, and taxation.
• Expertise in ledger scrutiny, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet finalisation.
• Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, trading, or industrial organisation will be preferred.
• Ability to independently manage complete accounting operations.
• Candidates with practical experience in GST returns, TDS compliance, and financial reporting will be preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹46,000.00 per month
