Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Oversee all daily accounting functions, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual books.
  • Review and approve vouchers, invoices, and expense claims.

2. Financial Reporting, Trackers & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Provide Management reports, Project trackers, financial insights, dashboards and variance analysis to management.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Supervise AP and AR cycles to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Review vendor/supplier statements and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Manage credit control and aging analysis of receivables.

4. Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PT, PF & ESI, etc.)
  • Prepare and file tax returns, coordinate with auditors, and support internal/external audits.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.

5. Banking & Treasury

  • Oversee bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and fund utilization.
  • Handle online banking transactions and coordinate with financial institutions.

6. Payroll Management

  • Oversee and process monthly payroll for employees.
  • Verify Inputs received from HR team and update in payroll software.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, salary structures, and payroll-related regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee TDS, and confidential salary information

7. Client Communication & Documentation Management

  • Monitor and follow up with clients for all required documentation such as: NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), MSA (Master Service Agreement) SOW (Statement of Work)/ PO (Purchase Orders)
  • Ensure all client documents are received, validated, and filed correctly

8. Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Supervise and mentor accounts staff/trainees.
  • Develop and implement accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support system upgrades, ERP implementation, and digitalization efforts.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification preferred: CA-IPCC, CMA-Inter (completed or pursuing).
  • 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience (or as per company requirement).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks, ERP systems).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
