For more information, please visit https://www.rakspallikkoodam.com/ Job description: We are looking for a permanent, full-time School Guidance Counsellor who can join the school immediately. You will play a vital role in providing comprehensive counseling services to students. Your primary focus will be on supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and career development, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence and prepare for their future. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual counseling sessions to students to address personal, social, academic, and emotional concerns. Conduct assessments and develop personalized intervention plans to support students in achieving their goals. Assist students in developing coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and resilience to overcome challenges. Facilitate group counseling sessions and workshops on topics such as stress management, study skills, peer relationships, and career exploration. Respond promptly to crisis situations and provide crisis intervention and support to students in distress. Develop and implement crisis response protocols and procedures to address emergencies effectively. Collaborate with teacher, administrators, parents and other staff members to address students' academic and behavioral concern, design and deliver targeted interventions for groups of students with similar needs. Provide consultation and support to teachers regarding classroom management strategies and student interventions. Serve as a liaison between the school and external agencies, such as mental health professionals and community resources. Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions. Prepare reports and documentation as required for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), student referrals, and other administrative purposes. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards related to student confidentiality and record-keeping. Requirements: Must have excellent English communication skills & an empathetic personality. Must also have good interpersonal & listening skills. Must be extremely discrete and maintain confidentiality. Master's degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a related field (required). Professional certification or valid certification as a school counselor to counsel students (preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in school student counseling / educational setting is mandatory Strong knowledge of adolescent development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, other members of the SAAP Team and administrators. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in counseling and education.
