Job Title: ETP Operator Job Summary The ETP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. Carry out routine inspections of plant operations to ensure proper treatment of wastewater. Monitor and record operational data including pH, TDS, BOD, COD, MLSS, dissolved oxygen, flow rate, and turbidity. Adjust chemical dosing, flow rates, and process parameters as required. Conduct basic water and wastewater testing in coordination with laboratory staff. Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and report major faults to maintenance team. Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of treatment chemicals. Maintain daily operation logs, reports, and compliance records. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, company policies, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards. Support in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities. Qualifications & Skills Diploma / ITI / Certificate in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (preferred). Minimum 2–4 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations (ETP/STP). Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (physical, chemical, biological). Ability to operate laboratory testing instruments for wastewater parameters. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Good record-keeping and reporting ability. Safety-conscious and environmentally aware. Work Conditions Plant-based role with shifts (day/night as per schedule). Exposure to industrial wastewater, chemicals, and outdoor working conditions. The QC Technologist will conduct laboratory testing, monitor production quality parameters, and implement corrective actions to maintain product consistency and compliance. Perform proximate analysis (moisture, protein, fat, ash, FFA, TVN, histamine, peroxide value, etc.). Monitor process parameters (cooking temperature, pressing efficiency, drying time, etc.) to ensure product quality. Maintain sampling and testing records , ensuring full traceability. Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO, and regulatory standards (FSSAI, EIA, or export standards). Conduct microbiological and chemical testing as required. Assist in calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments . Report non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions . Support quality audits and customer inspections . Collaborate with production teams to improve product quality and reduce wastage. Qualifications & Experience: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Food Technology, Fisheries Science, Microbiology, or related discipline. 2–5 years experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in a fishmeal or seafood processing industry preferred. Knowledge of chemical analysis methods and QC instruments (moisture analyzers, Soxhlet apparatus, protein analyzers, etc.). Familiarity with international standards for fishmeal (e.g., IFFO, EIA, FOS, HACCP).
