Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Inspect and select appropriate rigging gear and lifting tools (slings, chains, shackles, hooks, etc.).
Attach and detach lifting gear to loads and guide crane operators during lifting operations.
Follow lifting plans and signals as per site safety protocols.
Conduct pre-lift inspections of equipment and ensure safe load limits are not exceeded.
Perform routine maintenance and report damaged rigging equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and site rules at all times.
Collaborate with crane operators, supervisors, and safety officers during lifting activities.
Interpret load charts, rigging diagrams, and method statements.
Assist in erecting and dismantling scaffolding, hoists, and temporary structures when required.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
