Job Title: Rigging & Animation Artist

Location: Onsite – Edappally, Ernakulam, Kerala

Department: Game Development & Design

Experience: Minimum 6 months – 1 year

About the Role:

We are looking for a Rigging & Animation Artist to join our Game Development & Design team in Edappally. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of both human and animal anatomy, expertise in facial rigging and expressions, and a passion for bringing characters to life with expressive, believable motion.

You’ll work closely with our modeling, animation, and technical teams to create production-ready rigs and animations optimized for real-time game environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain biped, quadruped, and facial rigs for in-game characters and creatures.

Collaborate with artists and animators to ensure rigs are efficient, user-friendly, and meet both artistic and technical needs.

Create expressive facial setups for realistic and stylized characters.

Animate characters and creatures to demonstrate rig functionality and motion range.

Troubleshoot and optimize rigs to ensure high performance in-game.

Stay up to date with the latest rigging and animation tools, plugins, and workflows.

Maintain a clean, organized rigging pipeline with proper naming conventions and hierarchy.

Requirements:

6 months – 1 year of professional experience in rigging and animation (preferably in games or animation production).

Proficiency in any major 3D software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of biped and quadruped anatomy, deformation, and motion.

Proven experience with facial rigging and expression systems for humans and animals.

Solid knowledge of IK/FK systems, controllers, constraints, and skin weighting.

Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

Familiarity with latest rigging and animation plugins/tools (e.g., Advanced Skeleton, Auto-Rig Pro, Rapid Rig, etc.).

Ability to work onsite and collaborate effectively within a creative team.

Bonus Skills (Preferred):

Experience with Python/MEL scripting for automation or tool development.

Familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity pipelines.

Understanding of muscle systems, blendshapes, and secondary motion.

Strong artistic sense of timing, weight, and emotion in animation.
