Role Overview: As a member of the Emerging Visual-AI Systems Research team at Intel Labs, your primary mission will be to drive technology leadership by conceiving, researching, prototyping, and collaborating with academic/external partners and Intel business groups to deliver technology innovation for future industry needs. You will play a crucial role in identifying innovative technologies and capabilities for the future of AI systems, with a focus on generative AI and multimodality. Your innovative work will center on hardware and software technologies that revolutionize the AI computing experience across edge/cloud systems. Your responsibilities will include investigating, implementing, and driving distributed computing eco-system for compute and memory intensive workloads leveraging Intel HW and SW products. This role demands a deep understanding of GPU/accelerators, network protocols, GPU APIs, AI frameworks, distributed computing, and computer architecture. Your role will also involve maintaining substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and contributing to scientific literature and the research community. Key Responsibilities: - Investigate, implement, and drive distributed computing eco-system for compute and memory intensive workloads using Intel HW and SW products - Demonstrate a strong system level programming background - Collaborate closely with partners to drive research agenda - Maintain knowledge of GPU/accelerators, network protocols, GPU APIs, AI frameworks, and computer architecture - Contribute regularly to scientific literature and the research community - Participate in the development of Intellectual Property Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's/BS with 10+ years, master's degree with 5+ years, or PHD with 1+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant engineering discipline - Proficiency in C++ with significant hands-on experience - Strong experience in GPU/NPU architecture, SW pipelines, and programming models - Knowledge of computer architecture, OS internals, cross-platform development, system level programming, and device drivers - Experience with low-level optimizations to enhance throughput and reduce latency of E2E systems - Strong experience with multithreading programming and concurrency models Additional Details: Intel Labs is a world-class research organization within Intel, dedicated to driving the company's technology pipeline and creating new opportunities.
