Research - Quant Research Development - VP

Role Overview: You will be joining the Portfolio Implementation Engineering team at AQR Capital Management's Bengaluru office. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing various systems related to global asset risk estimation, historical simulation, portfolio construction, and optimization. Additionally, you will work on implementing solutions for portfolio rebalancing based on quantitative models and interfacing with trading systems. Collaboration with local and global teams will be essential for successful product delivery. Your role will involve leading technology transformation initiatives, business-driven projects, as well as guiding and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop a global asset risk estimation system incorporating a large amount of data - Develop a high-performance historical simulation engine - Create portfolio construction systems for quantitative investment strategies - Implement portfolio optimization systems considering real-world constraints on research strategies - Develop solutions for portfolio rebalancing based on quantitative models and interface with trading systems to generate orders - Lead technology initiatives through the development lifecycle - Manage multiple workstreams with task allocation, execution, and monitoring - Guide and mentor team members - Utilize expertise in Java programming language - Apply outstanding coding, debugging, and analytical skills - Implement design and architecture principles including object-oriented design, distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and microservices - Work with cloud technologies and containers - Utilize knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, C++, Go, Scala - Apply knowledge and experience in Finance Qualifications Required: - Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline - 10+ years of software development experience - Strong expertise in Java programming language - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written - Ability to lead technology initiatives and manage teams effectively - Willingness to learn and work on new technologies and domain concepts - Knowledge and experience of Finance is desirable,
