Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new market opportunities, securing commercial contracts, and building strategic partnerships in the renewable energy sector (Solar, Wind, Hybrid, Energy Storage, or Green Hydrogen). This role involves leading deal structuring, client acquisition, regulatory alignment, and managing the end-to-end sales/project onboarding pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Expansion & Lead Generation: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities across C&I (Commercial & Industrial) clients, utility-scale projects, and government tenders.
• Client Relationship Management: Pitch renewable energy solutions (PPA, OPEX, CAPEX models) to CXOs, sustainability heads, and key decision-makers.
• Proposal & Bid Management: Lead the preparation of RFPs, RFIs, and techno-commercial proposals in coordination with engineering and financial modeling teams.
• Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and service contracts, negotiating commercial terms to closing.
• Regulatory & Market Tracking: Stay updated on state/national renewable policies, tariff trends, open access regulations, and carbon credit mechanisms.
• Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with EPC contractors, developers, investors, and vendors to create strategic joint ventures or consortiums.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain and track a robust business pipeline, forecasting revenue and conversion timelines accurately.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Annual revenue/MW capacity added to the pipeline and closed.
• Conversion rate from lead to signed contract (PPA / EPC).
• Client retention and strategic partner onboarding.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Renewable Energy) or Business Administration. An MBA in Marketing, Finance, or Energy Management is highly preferred.
• Experience: 4–8 years of experience in business development, key account management, or commercial strategy within the renewable energy domain.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of renewable energy models (On-grid/Off-grid, Rooftop/Ground-mounted Solar, Open Access, BESS).
• Skills:
• Financial literacy (understanding project IRR, LCOE, NPV, tariff structures).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and market analytics tools.

Pay: ₹252,000.00 - ₹1,120,000.00 per year
