Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Regional Sales Manager – General Trade to lead regional sales operations, expand distributor networks, and drive business growth across assigned territories.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FMCG, Personal Care, Skincare, Cosmetics, Hygiene Products, or Consumer Goods, along with proven expertise in distributor management, primary and secondary sales, retail expansion, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional General Trade sales strategies.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual regional sales targets.
• Drive primary and secondary sales growth.
• Appoint, onboard, and manage distributors and channel partners.
• Develop strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
• Expand retail coverage and improve numeric and weighted distribution.
• Ensure product availability, visibility, merchandising, and shelf placement.
• Lead and manage Area Sales Managers, Sales Officers, and Field Sales Executives.
• Set territory-wise targets and monitor team performance.
• Conduct regular market visits and review sales execution.
• Monitor competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and market trends.
• Prepare regional sales forecasts, business plans, and MIS reports.
• Track distributor performance, inventory, billing, and collections.
• Coordinate with marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in FMCG / General Trade Sales.
• Graduation in any discipline. MBA/PGDM will be an added advantage.
• Strong experience in distributor appointment and management.
• Good understanding of primary and secondary sales.
• Experience in managing regional sales and multi-city territories.
• Proven experience in leading and managing field sales teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Google Sheets, and CRM tools.
• Strong analytical and business development skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories.
