Job Title: Rebar Estimator Job Overview The Rebar Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the quantity and cost of rebar required for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to ensure compliance with AISC and ACI standards while utilizing advanced software tools. Key Responsibilities Analyze architectural and structural drawings to identify rebar requirements, ensuring compliance with AISC and ACI standards. Perform detailed takeoffs of rebar quantities using CADS RC 9.11 and Rebar CAD for accurate modeling. Prepare cost estimates for rebar materials, labor, and associated overheads using aSa Estimation software. Review all plans and specifications prior to taking-off and quoting projects. Provide accurate take-offs and quotes. Maintain CRM program with accurate records of project information and status. Keep outside/inside salespeople up-to-date on project bid status. Reach out to general contractors and architects and find main point of contact for proactive bidding. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Assist in preparing bids for projects, including detailed breakdowns of costs and quantities. Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, changes, and communications related to projects. Utilize SHEAR 97 for shear design calculations and optimization of rebar placements. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years in rebar estimation or a related field with a strong understanding of AISC and ACI standards. A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred. Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail in calculations and documentation. Technical Skills : Proficiency in estimation software such as ASA Estimation, CADS RC 9.11, Rebar CAD, and SHEAR 97; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
