Role & responsibilities The R&D Scientist is responsible for supporting R&D projects, both alone and in collaboration with other R&D personnel. Experience in areas like Surface finishing, Aluminum Anodizing, Conversion coating, Corrosion resistant coatings, Electroplating, Electroless plating, Plating on plastics, Polymers for surface coating application. Project work will be the focus, with application development based on Customer requirement, raw material qualification, materials characterization expected to occupy some proportion of the work. Responsible for the operation of pilot line, perform scale-up trials, and support beta-site activities. Accountable for the completion of product and application development projects in a timely manner. Must maintain detailed records of research activities. This includes both laboratory notebooks as well as Technical Memoranda. Must maintain and safeguard confidential and trade secret information regarding products, processes, and techniques. The Scientist III will have responsibilities, like support ISO audit program, monitor and follow health and lab safety and take-up additional responsibilities, as when requirement comes up. Preferred candidate profile B.sc/B.Tech/M.Sc. in a technical field (Chemistry, Materials Science etc.) is strongly preferred. Freshers with chemistry education can be considered 0-5 years experience in technical application support and/or development within a surface finishing business. Proven ability to track, manage, and report on the progress of complex projects, and to consistently meet deadlines. Proven ability to use statistical methods to design, analyze, and interpret the results of experimental programs. Demonstrated interpersonal and technical skills required to work cross functional areas and with customers. Experience with collaboration and negotiation with external vendors to keep the work on track and on schedule. Expertise with Microsoft Office applications and DOE software.
