About the Role We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented UI/UX Developer to join our team and contribute to QGroundControl (QGC) —an open-source Ground Control Station used globally in drone operations. You’ll collaborate with experienced developers to enhance the QGC user interface, ensuring an intuitive and high-performing experience for drone operators across multiple platforms. Responsibilities Collaborate with developers to refine and customize the UI/UX of QGroundControl. Learn the QGC codebase and contribute to both QML and C++ components. Design and implement new interface elements, layouts, and visual improvements. Adapt UI designs for various platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android). Participate in user testing and integrate feedback to improve usability. Maintain performance and safety standards in all UI-related changes, ensuring reliable drone operation. What You’ll Learn (with Support) The unique challenges of mission-critical drone UI versus general-purpose apps. QGroundControl's architectural structure (QML/C++). Cross-platform deployment using the Qt framework. Real-time telemetry, map integration, and MAVLink communication protocols. Required Skills 0–3 years of experience in UI/UX design or front-end development. Experience with (or strong interest in learning) Qt/QML. Basic understanding of C/C++, Python, or JavaScript. Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or similar. Strong sense of layout, spacing, responsiveness, and UI clarity. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Job Description: As a UAV Flight Test & Maintenance Engineer , you will conduct field/in-house testing of Dronestechlab’s UAS products and provide system support. Your main responsibilities include UAV flight testing, validation of R&D and new product developments, and preparing drones for flight. You will also perform timely maintenance, carry out flight tests, assist with field-testing activities, and collaborate with the System Engineering and Product Development teams during trials and client demonstrations. Specific Responsibilities : Hands-on experience in integration, testing, and validation during R&D and new product development phases, with a focus on Fixed Wing VTOL & Multirotor. Manage development and production flight test operations with an emphasis on safety. Operate and maintain drone equipment, including performing pre-flight checks and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Plan and execute drone flight missions for data collection, ensuring that all flight plans are compliant with regulations and safety guidelines. Use specialized software to process and analyze the data collected by the drone, ensuring that the data is accurate and of high quality. Coordinate with other engineering teams for the integration of complementary technologies. Attend demos/trials for defence users as necessary. Assist in product documentation and user manual development. Provide training and field support to end-users of UAS/UAV products. Be willing to work onsite and be able to travel as required for projects. Conduct regular inspections to identify damage or malfunctions in drones, both in-office and on-site. Perform necessary mechanical and electrical repairs or replacements in-office and on-site. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with motors, propellers, sensors, and batteries in both locations. Test and calibrate drones to ensure accurate performance in-office and on-site. Maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Other applicable engineering field. Relevant Experience: 2 Year or More Desired Skills & Characteristics: Thorough understanding of UAV systems and subsystems. Strong knowledge of Fixed wing VTOL UAV, and multirotor dynamics, control systems, and flight operations/Piloting. Skilled in diagnosing technical issues and identifying root causes. Capable of troubleshooting and implementing effective solutions. Experienced in performing timely repairs, maintenance, and issue resolution. Proficient in documenting system testing procedures and maintenance activities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Possess expert knowledge of UAV systems, including component configuration and performance evaluation. Familiar with UAS hardware, software, and sensor integration.
