User Services: Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating and using library resources. Provide reference and research assistance, including guidance on information retrieval and database use. Conduct library orientation sessions and information literacy workshops. Cataloging and Classification: Catalog and classify library materials according to standard library practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date catalog records. Administrative Duties: Maintain records of library usage, circulation statistics, and other relevant data. Prepare reports on library activities and performance. Qualifications: Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field. A Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or a related discipline is preferred. Library Skills: Knowledge of library cataloging systems (e.g., Dewey Decimal System, Library of Congress Classification). Proficiency in using integrated library systems (ILS) and library management software. Familiarity with digital library resources and online databases. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to students and faculty.
