Position Title: Hardware and Networking Engineer Reporting to: General Manager – IT (GM-IT) Location: Vilathur & Vadipatti Employment Type: Full-Time ### Role Objective The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining the health and performance of the company’s digital environment. This includes proactive monitoring and hands-on servicing of desktops, servers, printers, and network equipment, as well as managing external service providers (AMC). ### Key Responsibilities 1. Hardware & System Maintenance Desktop & Laptop Support: Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows/Linux workstations. Server Administration: Basic monitoring of server health, backups, and storage performance (Windows/Linux environments). Printer Services: Routine maintenance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and managing consumables for industrial and office printers. 2. Network Monitoring & Optimization Networking Monitoring: Real-time monitoring of LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity to ensure zero downtime. Infrastructure: Managing routers, switches, and firewalls; ensuring cables and patch panels are organized. Security: Monitoring network traffic for irregularities and ensuring VPNs/firewalls are operational. 3. Vendor & AMC Management AMC Monitoring: Maintaining a tracker for all Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) for UPS, Servers, Photocopiers, and Networking equipment. Service Coordination: Liaising with external vendors for repairs and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Asset Management: Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all hardware assets. 4. Reporting & Communication Direct Reporting: Provide daily/weekly status reports to the GM-IT regarding system uptime, pending issues, and network performance. Incident Logs: Maintaining logs of hardware failures and network outages with detailed "Root Cause Analysis" (RCA). ### Technical Skills & Qualifications Education: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Electronics. Certifications: BCA,MBA,MCA,BE & IT Related Experience: 2–7 years in a similar hardware and networking role. Tools: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, or PRTG) and remote support tools. ### Key Competencies Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure. Disciplined approach to documentation and reporting. Good communication skills for coordinating with the GM-IT and end-users.
