Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Purchase Engineer to join our procurement team. The Purchase Engineer will play a critical role in identifying and sourcing reliable suppliers both from India and globally. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical spare parts and a keen eye for quality materials. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, market research capabilities, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards. Key Responsibilities: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers of mechanical spare parts from India and around the world. Conduct thorough market research to stay updated on industry trends and supplier performance. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure the best value without compromising on quality. Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality standards, and production capacities. Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure all procured parts meet required standards and specifications. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing. Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, invoices, and payment terms. Maintain accurate records of supplier information, contracts, and transactions. Work closely with other departments to understand their needs and provide timely procurement support. Develop and implement strategies to optimize the procurement process and reduce costs. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the mechanical spare parts industry. Strong knowledge of various types of mechanical spare parts and materials. Excellent understanding of quality standards and material specifications. Proficient in market research and supplier evaluation techniques. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to travel as needed to visit suppliers and attend industry events.
