Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage procurement of mechanical equipment (pumps, blowers, diffusers, screens, clarifier mechanisms, DG sets, valves, piping) and electrical items (MCC/PCC panels, cables, instrumentation).
• Handle procurement of civil materials such as cement, steel, aggregates and shuttering, and coordinate with civil sub-contractors.
• Float enquiries, collect quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate prices and terms with vendors.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders with clear commercial terms (payment, delivery, warranty, penalties).
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor base, and evaluate vendors on quality, price and delivery.
• Coordinate with project, site, design and accounts teams to prepare material requirement schedules based on project BOQs and timelines.
• Follow up on deliveries, dispatch and logistics so material reaches site on schedule.
• Check material against technical specifications, drawings and approved makes, including client and consultant requirements.
• Maintain procurement records, MIS and tracking sheets for orders, deliveries and pending items.
• Coordinate with accounts on vendor bills, GST compliance and payment schedules.
• Control procurement costs and keep purchases within project budgets.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering (MBA in Materials or Supply Chain is a plus).
• 5 to 10 years of purchase experience in an EPC, infrastructure, water or wastewater company.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and market rates.
• Good understanding of GST, e-way bills, Purchase Order terms and vendor contracts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with government or PSU projects (such as UP Jal Nigam, Delhi Jal Board or similar departments).
• Familiarity with tender-based procurement and BOQ/DSR-based rates.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (MIS, comparative statements, trackers) and ERP or Tally.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple project sites.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹57,000.00 per month
