Profiling Machine Operator

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reports To :Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge

Job Purpose

To operate and monitor profiling machines efficiently to produce components as per specified dimensions, quality standards, and production targets while ensuring safety and minimum wastage.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate profiling machines (manual / semi-automatic / CNC as applicable) as per work instructions

• Set up machine parameters such as speed, feed, and cutting depth

• Load and unload raw materials safely

• Read and understand drawings, job cards, and production plans

• Measure finished products using vernier calipers, gauges, or templates

• Ensure profile accuracy and surface finish as per specifications

• Identify and report machine abnormalities or defects immediately

• Perform basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance

• Maintain production records, rejection details, and downtime logs

• Follow safety rules, PPE usage, and 5S practices

• Coordinate with quality, maintenance, and stores teams

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of profiling operations (steel / metal sections preferred)

• Ability to read basic technical drawings

• Familiarity with measuring instruments

• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills

• Attention to detail and quality consciousness

• Ability to work in shifts and meet targets

Qualification & Experience

• ITI / Diploma (Mechanical / Fitter / Turner) preferred

• 1–3 years of experience in profiling or similar machine operation

• Freshers with ITI may be considered with training

Safety Responsibilities

• Strict adherence to machine safety procedures

• Proper handling of tools and materials

• Immediate reporting of unsafe conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
