Product Manager - Data Platforms

As a seasoned Product Manager at Wayfair, you will play a crucial role in accelerating the development of the technology stack, specifically focusing on the data platforms, including Data Ingestion systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Being the subject matter expert and owner of Data Ingestion technologies, managing different volume, velocity, and variety in real-time and batch. - Prioritizing feature requests based on business value, impact, risks, and development costs. - Being accountable for end-to-end delivery of platform enhancements and support. - Developing and maintaining a product vision and roadmap, keeping stakeholders informed about goals and timelines. - Marketing your product internally to various departments, ensuring user awareness and value. - Translating product strategy into engineering stories, allowing for the implementation of ideas. - Deeply understanding the technology used in the products, influencing pivots when necessary. - Communicating periodic goals and progress to stakeholders to keep them updated on product development. Qualifications required for this role include: - 6+ years of overall experience with 3+ years in product management, preferably in developing data platforms, real-time event management, batch data movement, etc. - Foundational understanding of data technologies and expertise in products like Airflow, Kafka, BigQuery, Spark, Looker, or similar tools. - Experience in developing data operations standards and using SQL for ad hoc data retrieval. - Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Ability to deliver customer-centric products with clear KPIs for measuring effectiveness. - Experience working with large engineering teams, managing sprints, stand-ups, and backlogs. - Familiarity with Google Cloud and its data offerings.
