Product Designer

Role Overview

The Product Designer will be responsible for designing bespoke productsfrom concept sketches to production-ready drawingsensuring each product aligns with the luxury design language and technical precision expected at Morph Design.

This role requires a strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, ergonomics, finishes, and collaboration with vendors, artisans, and the interior design team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Concept Development

• Create moodboards, design themes, and conceptual sketches for custom furniture, lighting, artifacts, flooring inlays, and interior elements.
• Translate interior design concepts into product-level ideas that enhance the project narrative.

2. Detailed Product Design

• Develop complete technical drawing sets:
• GA drawings
• Exploded views
• Material & finish maps
• Joinery details
• BOM (Bill of Materials)
• Provide ergonomic, functional, and structural considerations for each product.

3. 3D Modeling & Rendering

• Build and refine high-quality 3D models.
• Render products for client presentations, catalogues, and marketing.
• Provide multiple finish options and detail variations.

4. Material, Finish & Fabrication Coordination

• Specify materials including wood, veneer, metal, upholstery, marble, glass, and engineered materials.
• Work with CNC, laser-cut, hand-crafted, and artisan-driven processes.
• Approve samples, finishes, and prototypes.
• Conduct QC checks during manufacturing and installation.

5. Vendor & Workshop Collaboration

• Coordinate with furniture manufacturers, metal workshops, upholsterers, marble artisans, and lighting fabricators.
• Ensure product integrity, timely delivery, and precision across all phases.

6. Costing & Optimization

• Provide preliminary costing and value-engineering options.
• Balance design intent with feasibility and project budgets.

7. Trend & Market Research

• Track global design trends, materials, and innovation in luxury products.
• Suggest new techniques and design ideas aligned with Morph Designs aesthetic.

Required Skills & Competencies

Design & Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of form, proportion, ergonomics, and product functionality.
• Ability to design signature pieces that elevate luxury interiors.
• Attention to micro-detailing in joinery, finish, and construction.

Software Proficiency (MANDATORY)

• Rhinoceros 3D

  or

  SolidWorks

  – for precise product modelling

• SketchUp

  – for interior context modelling

• AutoCAD

  – for technical drawings & detailing

• Keyshot / V-Ray / Blender

  – for rendering

• Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop

  – for presentations, moodboards, linework

• Fusion 360

  (bonus)

• Revit

  (optional but beneficial)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design / Industrial Design / Furniture Design / Interior Product Design
• 3–8 years experience in luxury interiors, furnishing, or product design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating custom furniture, lighting, and bespoke interior product work

Portfolio Requirement (MANDATORY)

• Any marble, stone, or metalwork design (added advantage)

without a portfolio will not be considered.
