About the role The Purchase Executive (Fresher) supports the procurement team in sourcing suppliers, preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, maintaining records, and ensuring materials arrive on time, at the right quality, and at optimal cost. This role builds foundational skills across vendor management, basic negotiations, inventory coordination, and documentation. ​ Key responsibilities Assist in vendor sourcing: research potential suppliers, obtain quotations, and compile comparison sheets.​ Prepare and process purchase orders in line with internal SOPs and approval matrices. ​Track orders, follow up on dispatches, and ensure timely delivery; escalate delays proactively. Maintain accurate procurement records: POs, GRNs, invoices, delivery challans, and contracts. Coordinate with stores/warehouse for inwarding, QC checks, and stock updates. Support basic negotiations on price, payment terms, and delivery timelines under guidance. Monitor minimum stock levels and raise replenishment requests with stakeholders. Prepare simple cost analyses and weekly purchase status reports. Assist with supplier onboarding, compliance documents, and performance reviews. Stay aware of market prices, alternate suppliers, and lead-time changes for assigned categories. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Engineering, or related field. 0–1 year of experience (internships/projects in procurement or supply chain are a plus). Basic understanding of procurement lifecycle, RFQ/PO processes, and inventory concepts. Proficiency with MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Word, and email; exposure to ERP is an advantage. ​ Skills and attributes Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through. Clear communication with suppliers and internal teams. Data accuracy and documentation discipline. Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
