Principal Software Engineer- C++

Role Overview: As a C++ Principal Software Engineer at OpenText, you will be a pivotal member of the team responsible for evaluating architecture solutions, designing software solutions, leading technical decisions, and maintaining software solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating high-level requirements into actionable plans, and guiding other team members towards successful project execution. Key Responsibilities: - Proficiency in C++ programming is essential as you will be working on a C++ based Windows Application that requires C++ development skills. Knowledge of JAVA is a plus. - Translate high-level business requirements into technical plans and work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions. - Demonstrate understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, including unit testing, end-to-end testing, and deployment processes. - Possess a customer-facing approach with the ability to work directly with customers. - Lead the design, development, DevOps, and project activities such as planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive project goals. - Solve complex technical problems and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision. - Stay updated on industry and technology trends. - Participate in organization-wide initiatives and drive change. - Utilize expertise in building scalable, distributed applications using cloud technologies such as AWS and microservices architecture. - Have hands-on experience in C++, STL, Multithreaded programming, and optionally in Java/JEE. - Exhibit excellent programming and debugging skills, including the ability to diagnose hard-to-debug problems like crashes and memory leaks using tools such as windbg. - Possess good programming practices with solid object-oriented development experience. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. - Minimum of 16+ years of proven experience as a C++ developer. - Architecture and design experience, including communication with other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
