Principal Platform Engineer - RHEL/OpenStack

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. You should have a deep understanding of RHEL, KVM, and OpenStack environments. Your role will involve integrating new hardware, debugging, supporting open-source software, and leading a team of platform engineers to ensure efficient and innovative platform solutions. As a Principal Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of platform engineers in developing, implementing, and optimizing platform solutions. You will oversee the integration of new hardware into existing networks and systems while minimizing disruption to operations. Your expertise in debugging and providing support for OpenStack and other open-source platforms will be crucial. Additionally, you will be designing and maintaining efficient CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins to ensure seamless software product delivery. Your role will also involve designing robust database solutions using PostgreSQL, ensuring the security and stability of platform architecture, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align engineering strategies with business objectives. Staying updated with industry trends and technological advancements will be essential to drive continuous improvement. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in platform engineering, including leadership experience, is required. You must have extensive experience with RHEL, KVM, and OpenStack environments, proficiency in programming languages like Python and Java, and in-depth knowledge of Jenkins, delivery pipelines, and PostgreSQL. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and collaboration abilities are also necessary. Certifications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenStack, or similar technologies, experience in developing and supporting large-scale, high-availability platform architectures, and familiarity with additional open-source tools and frameworks would be beneficial.
