Pre-Press Technician (Male)

Job Title: Prepress Technician

Designation: Prepress
Salary: ₹30,000 per month (Negotiable)

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Review job tickets thoroughly to determine prepress requirements by studying design, content, and technical specifications.
• Preflight supplied files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and report discrepancies between job tickets/quotes and supplied files to Sales Coordinators and Team Head as per company-prescribed formats.
• Prepare production-ready files through trapping, editing, keying, and correcting text and graphic elements.
• Manage and apply appropriate color profiles to ensure consistent color reproduction across printing devices and substrates.
• Create accurate digital proofs for client approval, identifying and correcting layout, text, and image placement errors.
• Perform detailed quality checks on printed proofs to detect inconsistencies, defects, or deviations from specifications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to print files, prepress software, and output equipment.
• Collaborate closely with designers, clients, sales coordinators, and production teams to meet all printing requirements.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in daily tasks, including proofing systems and final file verification.
• Organize and maintain prepress files on servers, following established protocols and best practices.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend continuous improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Review and verify all work thoroughly before release from the department.

Key Skills & Knowledge Required

• Minimum 4 years of experience in flexible packaging, offset printing, or narrow web digital print environments.
• Strong expertise in prepress and graphic software, including:
• Esko, Apogee, GMG
• G7 Color Management
• Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
• PitStop
• In-depth understanding of printing and packaging terminology and industry practices.
• Strong knowledge of color management systems and G7 methodology.
• Proficiency in using prepress operating platforms and ability to adapt to new or upgraded software and hardware.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to follow direction.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and collaborative working environment.

Educational Qualifications

• A 3-year Diploma or higher degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, or a related discipline (preferred).
