Job Description

Job Description:
  • We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator DBA with 6 8 years of experience in database administration performance tuning backup and recovery and high availability environments
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing enterprise PostgreSQL databases ensuring optimal performance security availability and operational excellence
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Install configure administer and maintain PostgreSQL database environments
  • Perform database upgrades patching and migrations
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries indexes and configurations
  • Manage backup restore and disaster recovery processes
  • Implement and support High Availability HA and replication solutions
  • Perform database capacity planning and storage management
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues and conduct root cause analysis
  • Implement database security user management and access controls
  • Support application teams during deployments and database changes
  • Automate routine DBA activities using Shell Python or PowerShell scripting
  • Manage database health monitoring and alerting tools
  • Participate in incident problem change and release management processes
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Required Skills
  • 6 8 years of experience in Database Administration
  • Strong hands on experience with PostgreSQL 11 12 13 14 15 and above
  • Expertise in
  • Database Installation Configuration
  • Backup Recovery pg dump pg restore PITR
  • Performance Tuning
  • Query Optimization
  • Partitioning
  • Index Management
  • Vacuum Analyze Operations
  • Experience with PostgreSQL Replication
  • Streaming Replication
  • Logical Replication
  • Failover Management
  • Strong knowledge of Linux Administration
  • Experience with Monitoring Tools such as
  • pgAdmin
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
  • Nagios
  • Knowledge of SQL PL pgSQL and database scripting

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with PostgreSQL on AWS RDS Azure Database for PostgreSQL or GCP
  • Knowledge of HA solutions such as Patroni Pgpool II or RepMgr
  • Containerization experience using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of DevOps and CI CD practices
  • Experience with automation scripting Python Shell
  • Soft Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to manage critical production issues independently
  • Strong documentation and coordination skills
  • Customer focused and proactive approach
  • Certifications Preferred
  • PostgreSQL Certified Professional
  • AWS Azure Database Certifications
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
