As a Networks and Systems Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for maintaining and administering our computer network and servers. Your primary duties will include overseeing the maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and related systems, conducting disaster recovery operations, safeguarding data, software, and hardware from potential attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when required. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with network users to identify issues and resolve existing problems. To excel in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of network infrastructure and hardware. You should be capable of implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network devices such as WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. Proficiency in application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desirable. Your responsibilities will include managing the network infrastructure of various environments, including offices, production areas, data centers, and end-user settings. You will be responsible for maintaining network infrastructure components like firewalls, VPN gateways, VLANs, and more. Monitoring server health, network status, and application performance, along with troubleshooting and analyzing network-related performance issues, will be a crucial aspect of your role. You will also be tasked with finding low-latency solutions for existing networks, coordinating with third parties to uphold network lines and data center infrastructure, and collaborating with developers to support and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and applications. Key Requirements: - Experience in network administration and familiarity with network design, operation, or automation - Proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting large networks, including multicast configuration - Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, expertise in scripting languages like Bash/Python/Perl for infrastructure maintenance, and hands-on experience with monitoring and network support tools - Familiarity with protocols such as OSI layers, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MSDP, and PIM - Understanding of Firewall Technology, VPN configuration (IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, Site-to-site VPN), and troubleshooting - Knowledge of WAN, LAN, and data center network architectures - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 2 years of experience - Previous experience in the High-Frequency Trading industry is a significant advantage - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Self-motivated with the ability to work on assignments with minimal supervision - CCNP or CCNA certification and Red Hat Certified System Administrator (preferred),
