Platform Engineer - Backend Infrastructure

As a Platform Engineer - Backend Infrastructure at Linarc, you will play a crucial role in scaling and evolving the core infrastructure that powers our systems. You will be responsible for building and optimizing core services using Python/Django and PostgreSQL, focusing on reliability and performance at scale. Additionally, you will design and maintain event-driven microservices for real-time updates, data synchronization, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integrations. Your role will involve implementing multi-tenant architecture with strict database routing, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and usage controls. Furthermore, you will manage deployment workflows across Heroku (dev/demo) and AWS (prod) to ensure consistent environments and secure automation. Collaboration on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and analytics integrations, such as real-time reporting, predictive models, and dashboard pipelines, will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Supporting infrastructure for offline-capable mobile apps, versioned Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and document/report generation will also be part of your role. To succeed in this position, you should have at least 4 years of experience in backend or platform engineering, preferably in a Software as a Service (SaaS) or data-intensive environment. Proficiency in Python (specifically Django or FastAPI), PostgreSQL, Redis, and REST/OpenAPI is essential. Hands-on experience with containerized deployments, Celery, Kafka/Event queues, and secure data workflows will be beneficial. Familiarity with multi-region architecture, access control design, and schema versioning is also required. You should be able to collaborate effectively with product and AI teams and have a preference for writing maintainable, observable code. Additionally, experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integrations, Building Information Modeling (BIM)/Geographic Information System (GIS), or reporting engines such as ReportLab and LibreOffice automation is considered a plus. Understanding of Vue 3 front-end integration points and familiarity with AI workflows like document extraction, plan processing, and predictive analytics are also desirable.
