As a photo editor, you will be responsible for manipulating and enhancing visual media (images) to create a polished and cohesive final product. This role spans across various industries such as film, television, social media, advertising, journalism, and corporate communications. Your tasks may range from basic adjustments to complex edits, including special effects, color grading, and creative storytelling. You will work with images to enhance their appearance, correct technical issues, and ensure they align with the required style or purpose for a project. This involves tasks like basic image adjustments, such as color correction, exposure adjustments, and cropping and resizing. Additionally, you will be involved in retouching and enhancing images by smoothing skin tones, removing unwanted objects, and adding or removing elements to improve the composition or storytelling. Artistic enhancements are also a part of your responsibilities, where you may apply filters or effects, manipulate layers using software like Photoshop, and create collages or compositions. You will also prepare images for print or web use by formatting files appropriately and adjusting resolutions as needed. Collaboration and workflow are essential aspects of your role as you will work closely with photographers, graphic designers, or marketing teams to ensure that the visuals align with the project's overall vision.
