You will be part of a dynamic team as an Ophthalmic Assistant, supporting ophthalmologists in various tasks such as conducting basic vision tests, assisting in eye examinations, and preparing patients for treatments. Your role will involve managing clinic reception tasks, participating in community outreach programs, and assisting in the operation theater as a Scrub Nurse. Your responsibilities will include conducting basic vision tests, assisting ophthalmologists during examinations and treatments, and preparing instruments in the operation theater. You will also manage front-desk activities, handle appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and maintain electronic medical records. Additionally, you will participate in eye care camps and outreach programs to promote community eye health, educate patients on eye care and post-treatment home care, and sterilize ophthalmic equipment and instruments. To qualify for this role, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with certification from an accredited ophthalmic assistant program preferred. Previous experience in an ophthalmic or medical setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to participate in additional training and community outreach activities are essential. Additional skills such as experience as a Scrub Nurse, proficiency in managing clinic administrative tasks and using medical software, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are considered a bonus.
