Operational Engineer Sr

As an Operational Engineer Senior at CSG, you will play a crucial role in the effective operation and support of functionalities for the cloud-based SaaS platform Ascendon. You will be part of the Ascendon Core Billing (ACB) teams, responsible for the build-out and ongoing operational aspects of the Ascendon Core Billing component. Your responsibilities will include: - Acting as the first responder for production incidents and exceptions, ensuring quick triage and resolution of critical issues. - Collaborating with development, QA, and architecture teams to enhance observability, logging, and alerting across the application stack. - Handling deployment and configuration of the ACB solution in production environments. - Monitoring the functionality and performance of the ACB solution to ensure uptime and reliability. - Creating and maintaining operational playbooks and SOPs for recurring tasks and incident handling. - Participating in Agile ceremonies and DevOps activities. - Mentoring junior engineers to help them grow. - Working closely with global teams and stakeholders across time zones to ensure seamless operations. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in managing and operating enterprise-grade applications. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges. - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, with preference for Azure DevOps. - Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and relational databases like PostgreSQL or SQL Server. - Experience in deploying and managing cloud-native applications using AWS services. - Exposure to the telecom billing domain is a strong advantage. - Excellent communication and customer support skills. - Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and handle production support.
