Offshore Azure Data Tester

As an Azure Data Tester in Chennai, you will be responsible for the following: Role Overview: You will help create test automation by following an existing data automation framework that validates business rules for audience creation across multiple social media channels. Additionally, you will automate recurring ETL processes using the PyTest framework. Your role will involve validating the flow of data from disparate sources ingested into various data stores, Event Hub, and Data Lakes, followed by data transformation using workflows built inside Azure Data Factory and storage in Azure Databricks. You will also create and execute manual test cases based on functional requirements and technical specifications to ensure quality and accuracy. Furthermore, you will thoroughly test the ETL rules for data transformation. Key Responsibilities: - Develop test queries using SQL, Python, or PySpark to validate data inside various databases, including Databricks. - Experience with automating tests using Python/PySpark. - Exposure to PyTest framework would be an added advantage. - Experience in building basic workflows or data pipelines inside Azure Data Factory would be beneficial for automating repeated testing of data flows. - Knowledge of API testing, including preparing request blocks and analyzing API responses in JSON/XML formats. - Log defects within Jira when the product does not meet specifications. - Participate in daily stand-ups with the project team following agile methodology. - Coordinate with development team members for defect validation and assist in defect recreation. - Create appropriate test cases within the TestRail Test Management tool. - Update task information in Jira to communicate progress with the onshore test lead.
