Role & responsibilities

Job Title: L1 Network Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented L1 Network Engineer to provide first-level support for network operations. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving basic network issues while escalating complex problems to higher-level engineers. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring network availability and maintaining service levels.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor network devices, links, and systems using NMS (Network Monitoring Systems).
Perform first-level troubleshooting of LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
Handle incidents, service requests, and escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams.
Log and track all issues in the ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar).
Perform health checks and routine maintenance tasks as per SOPs.
Support configuration changes under the guidance of senior engineers.
Document troubleshooting steps and create/update knowledge base articles.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for link issues or hardware replacements.
Adhere to defined SLAs and ensure timely resolution of incidents.
Maintain compliance with IT security and network policies.
