Procedure assistance: Work alongside the cardiologist and other healthcare professionals, prepare and maintain a sterile field, and assist with handling instruments and medications during the procedure. Equipment operation: Set up and operate specialized equipment, such as cardiac monitors, imaging devices (like fluoroscopy), and hemodynamic monitoring systems. Patient monitoring: Continuously monitor the patient's vital signs, including electrocardiograms (EKG), blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, and report any abnormalities to the physician. Safety and documentation: Ensure patient safety throughout the procedure, document all procedure details accurately, and maintain an inventory of supplies. Emergency response: Assist in emergency procedures like angioplasty or stent placement if needed. Essential skills and knowledge Detailed knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and procedures.
