MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN

As a Medical Records Technician at MAGJ Hospital, Mookkannoor, you will be responsible for managing and documenting patient health records. This includes collecting, reviewing, and organizing medical history, diagnoses, treatments, and test results. Ensuring the accuracy, up-to-date nature, and proper storage of records in electronic health record (EHR) systems or physical files is crucial. Assigning medical codes using classification systems like ICD-10 and CPT will be a part of your daily responsibilities. Maintaining confidentiality and security of patient information as per HIPAA and other regulatory requirements is mandatory. Key Responsibilities: - Data entry and retrieval tasks: Enter and update patient data in electronic health systems. Retrieve medical records for healthcare professionals and authorized personnel. Process requests from patients, insurance companies, and legal entities while following privacy laws. - Compliance and quality control: Ensure medical records comply with hospital policies, legal requirements, and insurance guidelines. Audit medical records for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation. Assist in preparing reports and statistical data for hospital administration and research purposes.
